NZ Tertiary Cloud Skills Challenge

Welcome to the New Zealand Tertiary Cloud Skills Challenge of 2021 presented by Microsoft and NZIQ.

The Cloud Skills Challenge is your chance to learn about the cutting edge cloud technologies while competing for amazing prizes.

How it works

Compete

Register and complete learning modules to earn XP. Track your progress against other students from across New Zealand. It’s always better when we learn together.

Learn

Increase your understanding with easy-to-read instruction and stay up on the bleeding-edge of technology.

Validate your new skills

Validate your new skills by earning industry certifications for bonus XP. By the end of the challenge, you will have real-world valuable skills and the qualifications to prove it!

Registration

Each competing student will need to register to begin the competition. The Cloud Skills Challenge begins on May 3, 2021 and ends on June 11, 2021.

Scoring

Participants earn three (3) points (XP) per module completed.

Participants earn twenty (20) points (XP) per certification earned (Only passed exams award points).

Once the challenge is completed, the individuals with the most total points will be calculated and awarded prizes. In the event of a tie between multiple participants, the individual who earned the points fastest will win.

How to Earn your Microsoft Certified fundamentals Qualification

Each exam attempt is valued at $179 NZD and only limited attempts are available.

You can earn your Microsoft Certified Fundamental certification by sitting the relevant 50 minute exam. Either attend one of our limited space remote exam session, or have your teacher register your school to deliver the exams at your school in your own time.

Microsoft Certified Fundamental Exam Details

There are only limited exams available, and exams will be provided on a first-in, first-served basis. A maximum of five (5) exam attempts per student applies.

To ensure you make the most of your exam opportunity, before sitting a Microsoft Certified Fundamental Exam, it is strongly recommended you test your skills using our practice test. This practice test is designed to ensure you are ready to sit the final exam. You should be able to score over 80% on the practice test before booking your final exam.
